Crowe Singers – “Honoring Our Grandmothers” Biography On behalf of the Crowe Singers we would like to send a big meegwitch out to all of the people who made this recording possible. We would like to thank our home communities of Keeseekoose, Cote and Waywayseecapo. Also we would like to thank the Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Service Agency for supporting us as well. Our group would also like to send a special thank you and give recognition to the families of the late Dean Kitchemonia and Billy Quewezance who sang with the Crowe Singers but have since passed on. The Crowe Singer’s are originally from the Keeseekoose and Cote First Nation. The Crowe Singer’s were originally established in the mid 90’s under the guidance of Mrs. Dorothy Crowe. Mrs. Crowe was the founder of the Crowe Singers. Known to our singers as Coco Dorothy, Mrs. Crowe mentored us and taught us not only in singing but in our everyday lives. All of our grandmother’s have played an important role in our lives and have supported our singing in one way or another. Our other grandmother’s (coco’s) who also supported us were Christina Severight, Gracie Quewezance, and Annie (Neynawey) Keewatin. We would like to dedicate this recording in honour of our grandmother’s (coco’s) and the role they played in our lives. Kisawenamin Coco… This one’s for you Track List 1. Ladies Jingle 2.
